Originally Kutna Hora was supposed to be a day trip from Prague, but since it was on the way to our next destination we decided we would stay there for night. I went to retrieve the bike from the hostel garage only to find that the battery was completely flat. Within a 35 meter space, I manage to run with it, jump on and kick it into 2nd before grabbing a handful of front brake to prevent me from going to the wall, just a few meters away. Anyway, the bike started and was ready loading.
Our main reason for visiting Kutna Hora was to see the Church of Bones – The church contains over 40,000 human remains arranged in an assortment of structures. We made the 1 hour ride form Prague in the early afternoon, a few phone calls later and we’d found a great little guest house for around £6 each.
We wasted no time though, and jumped back on the bike for the 5 minute trip to the Church – I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves on this one.
Although small, the church was quite a sight, and I was surprised that there weren’t more tourists around. Perhaps others aren’t quite as morbid as me, but I enjoyed the experience.
Later we headed back to our guest house and cleaned ourselves up for dinner, drinks, and a walk around town.
I’ll post a few more pictures of Kutna Hora soon.
